Strategic acquisitions, record investments, innovative breakthroughs, and growth across healthcare and semiconductor markets - a look back at Air Liquide's key highlights.
In August 2025, Air Liquide announced the signing of an agreement to acquire DIG Airgas. Founded in 1979, the company is a leading player in South Korea’s industrial gases sector. The transaction equivalent to 3 billion euros was completed in January 2026 and financed through a bond issuance. It significantly strengthens the Group’s position in South Korea, the world’s fourth-largest industrial gases market and the sixth-largest industrial economy by GDP(1).
Driven by its outstanding innovation and manufacturing capabilities, South Korea is leading the next waves of development in key sectors like the semiconductor industry, renewable and low-carbon energy and mobility.
With an annual revenue of 510 million euros in 2024, DIG Airgas represents a growth lever for Air Liquide. The Group can broaden its value proposition through significant industrial synergies built on the complementary footprints and activities of Air Liquide and DIG Airgas in South Korea. With 550 employees and 60 plants, DIG Airgas also boasts a backlog of nearly 20 secured projects, offering particularly attractive prospects for the years to come.

To finance this major transaction, Air Liquide successfully completed a bond issuance. Substantially oversubscribed by investors, the offering resulted in the issuance of 2.15 billion euros in bonds. “The success of this bond issuance confirms our strong market positioning and reflects investors’ continued confidence in our robust business model and performance trajectory,” emphasized Jérôme Pelletan, Chief Financial Officer of the Group.
Present in South Korea for more than 30 years, Air Liquide is thus reaching a new strategic milestone with the acquisition of DIG Airgas. Closer than ever before to its local customers and partners, the Group can now offer a comprehensive range of solutions and services across all its key business segments. This transaction positions Air Liquide as a leading player in the country and accelerates its growth in Asia.
