5.3 Equipment, Engineering and Installations
Air Liquide can provide the necessary equipment, engineering and installation for a safer and reliable use of the gases and their properties. Equipment such as high-precision, clean and leak-free regulators are available with various pressure ranges, intended for specific applications.
Primary Pressure Control Regulator
Single Stage
- Reduces the cylinder pressure to the delivery or outlet pressure in one step
- Is a good performer for short duration gas usage
- Recommended when precise control of the delivery pressure is not required
- Delivery pressure variations will occur with decreasing cylinder pressure
- Reduces the cylinder pressure to a working level in 2 steps
- Provides better performance for long duration gas usage
- The cylinder pressure is reduced by the first stage to a preset intermediate level, which is then fed to the inlet of the second stage
- Maintains constant outlet pressure as the gas in the cylinder decrease
Dual Stage
Stainless Steel Body regulators are intended for primary pressure control of corrosive gases (eg SO2, H2S..etc). It serves high-purity applications where fluctuations in outlet pressure can be tolerated, or high-purity applications requiring constant pressure control.
Brass Body regulators are intended for primary pressure control of inert and flammable gases (eg O2, N2, Ar). It also serves applications where fluctuations in outlet pressure can be tolerated, or applications requiring constant pressure control.
Secondary Pressure Control Regulator
Line Regulator
The line regulator is intended for secondary pressure control of various types of gases, high purity of liqufied gas, or as point-of-use pressure control in high purity gas distribution systems. Available in stainless steel and brass materials.

Switchover panel is an automated switchover system designed to supply a continuous supply of high-purity non-corrosive gas. The system comes wiith either flexible hoses for use with two cylinders or manifold connectors for use with the modular manifold system.

Flexible Hose
Metal Flexible Hose provide an all-welded, zero permeation and flexible alternative to pipe and tubing in laser purity gas applications, even at cryogenic temperatures. The non-porous characteristics of stainless steel and its chemically inert properties coupled with zero maintenance requirements make these ideal for high-pressure applications.
